A conventional sprocket wheel for a bicycle is generally structured to comprise a hub portion, a pair of hub pins extending inward from the hub portion, and a plurality of sprocket teeth integrally formed on the outer periphery of the hub portion and extending radially outward. The sprocket wheel is integrally formed in a single body with a plurality of axially extending slits. When the hub portion is formed, the hub pins are outwardly extended from the inner side of the hub portion and the slots are formed in the outer side of the hub portion. A gear box for engaging with the sprocket wheel is arranged to allow the hub pins to come in and out of the hub portion and thus to allow the rotation of the sprocket wheel. This gear box is integrally formed with a hub body for engaging with the hub portion. In other words, the conventional sprocket wheel has the gear box and the hub body as integral bodies.
The gear box is arranged to allow the hub pins to come in and out of the hub portion. The hub pins are formed at a slant to allow the hub pins to easily come out of the hub portion. The sprocket teeth on the outer periphery of the hub portion are formed at an equal interval so that the spacing between the sprocket teeth becomes uniform.
